ARTIST BIO

Eva Herrera is a Cuban American, mixed media artist living and working in North Texas. Eva is a self-proclaimed paper addict who has been collecting ephemera for most of her life. Her collage work explores abstract storytelling through the intuitive play of colors, shapes, and images. She is inspired by abstract color blocking and modern quilt making. Eva graduated with a BFA and Bachelors of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1994. Upon graduation, she worked in residential and retail design in Boston. In 2009 Eva moved with her family to Texas where she began her career in art education while pursuing her studio art. Eva can be found making art in her home studio, teaching her elementary art students and collecting bits and pieces of paper that will potentially spin some tales.
